Five great reasons for choosing Sellerdeck for e-commerce

Sellerdeck e commerce

Sellerdeck software is long established in the e-commerce marketplace.  Previously under the Actinic banner, it has been around since 1996.

Five great reasons you would choose Sellerdeck:

  1. Long, established history: This is a safe choice and you won't find it disappearing or not working because the required product development has not been completed.  There isn't any Work In Progress in terms of site functionality.
  2. Standard Templates: If you know what you are looking for, you will quickly see that a standard template is being used on an online store.  If you are looking for speed of implementation for a store which is not going to be too technologically sophisticated - or if you are working to a strict and modest budget (more later) - then Sellerdeck is a great choice.
  3. Modest budget: You need some integration and personalisation but you don't have much budget then Sellerdeck is a good choice to make.  There is only a certain amount of customisation possible and many aspects will remain the same irrespective.  For a fast and cost-effective store then Sellerdeck is a very good choice.
  4. Don't need industrial strength: This is slightly more difficult to say in a way which doesn't cause offense.  If you have only modest ambitions in terms of volume of transactions or value, then Sellerdeck is a good choice.  We use it for entry-level projects (it will do more but we think that there are better platforms for higher volume requirements).
  5. Modest (reasonably) requirements for integration:  If you think that you will be wanting to integrate lots of systems with your e-commerce platform now - or at some point in the future - then you might want to go with something more powerful.  If you don't think you'll need to integrate very much then Sellerdeck will deliver to your expectations.

What is actually critical

If you have decided that Sellerdeck is the platform for you then we would advise you focus on buyer usability as the primary focus.  Why?  It is pointless trying to get all the fancy stuff working if the site doesn't do what it is primarily there for: to sell (frequently).  If customers find a site to be clunky or slow then they will find an alternative.  And for most of us, alternatives are extremely easy to find.  So, we recommend that you work hard making the site work well first of all.

Are there other options?

If you think you are going to grow quickly then it might be a good idea to use a more scalable platform from the start.  We typically use Magento in these circumstances but others are available.  It will be much more expensive to have to rebuild a second site because you quickly outgrow the original site - frankly, it would be a false economy.

A cheap ecommerce website is never a good idea - it just will not work well enough, will be slow and customers will not return to purchase again.  ITQ Solutions is a Magento designer Manchester - ecommerce web design, including Sellerdeck and Magento agency.
